The Northwest AIFD Chapter proudly present

{TWO featured designers}

Brenna Quan AIFD & Sue Tabbal-Yamaguchi AIFD EMC

for a full-day floral experience in VANCOUVER, B.C. Canada

Demo + workshop + more!

Set in the heart of Vancouver, B.C. at the Vandusen Botanical Garden, you’ll be investing in a full-day floral design education and inspiration experience! Whether a seasoned florist, a budding designer or floral enthusiast, there is something for everyone!

Our Saturday session will commence in the Floral Hall with a demonstration in which Sue and Brenna will reveal the techniques and inspiration behind several unique designs created with nature in mind. From statement pieces to bouquets & couture, our TWO dynamic designers will share their creative processes & floral mechanics.

After a social lunch hour, the afternoon workshop will have each participant creating their very own lei po’o or flower crown, using authentic lei-making techniques. You will be blending lush garden flowers with textural-rich, dried botanicals to create all natural head adornments. As a bonus, Sue, a native Hawaiian, will show various other techniques and combinations you may also be able to try, to enrich your knowledge in the culture of and in creating one-of-a-kind leis for all occasions. The beauty of this experience lies in its inherent authenticity and its intent of sustainable design.

You can then fashion your floral accessories while taking a tour through the FLEURS DE VILLES couture fashion display within the garden! Brenna will be onsite to explain all of her mechanics, as she will be one of the several local designers participating in this edition of the FDV series. It’s a rare and fantastic opportunity to get some behind-the-scenes questions answered! There may even be another participant or two in the mix!

This opportunity is OPEN TO ALL LEVEL DESIGNERS with the desire to express their individuality through personal creations & grow their floral technique toolboxes!

Garden hours: 10am - 5pm | Event doors open at 9:45am

Brenna Quan AIFD

Brenna is a botanical artist and educator who loves to inspire all flower and nature lovers with her creative and whimsical designs. She fancies all of the “small details that come together to complete a full vision”.

With over two decades in the industry and extensive experience in retail, events and international design competitions, the pieces she creates blend colour, texture and form into finessed floral expressions. Her theatrical dance background has always influenced her design style, as she refers to creating and bringing concepts together by way of “floralography”. This combines elements that invoke multiple senses for viewers to experience. She finds much happiness in spreading joy through floral art!

I invite you to explore and discover the possibilities and beyond, looking to nature as inspiration to create your own unique botanical expressions.
